WE THE PEOPLE
FairTax Act
No-one likes taxes, including me, but unfortunately, they are inevitable. However, if the taxes were proportioned more equally, that could be the spoonful of sugar which helps the medicine go down. I personally, am in favor of the Fair Tax, however, there are revisions I see necessary before passing it as legislature. However, the proposal of replacing all federal income and payroll based taxes with a national retail sales tax would allow a more even distribution of the weighty matter of, “Who has to pay taxes”? being answered concretely with, “Everyone”.
I support this tax plan only with the repeal of the 16th Amendment and the abolishment of all federal, personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes. This Act would need a reduction in tax percentage with a projected amortization deadline.
The FairTax taxes collects only on goods and service, not income.
The FairTax Benefits:
Why I support this…
Everyone pays tax with this act. No one is excluded unless they never eat out, got to the store to buy anything or attend a movie. This removes the burden of paying taxes from the individual, catches those who participate in tax evasion, and downsizes government. The beastly IRS is eliminated and tax oversight is returned to the US Department of Treasury as it was originally intended to be.
