WE THE PEOPLE
Energy Development
As your Congresswoman, I will attempt to persuade fellow Congressional members of the importance of becoming a self-sustaining nation.
At a time when the American economy is experiencing the worst recession in decades, the last thing Washington should be doing is restricting the development of cheaper energy, increasing taxes on energy consumers, or enforcing the disenfranchisement of smaller energy companies. From reserves in the mountain of the West to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to the outer-continental shelf, we have numerous untapped resources that can increase energy supply and reduce prices. Constantly improving technology gives us the ability to explore resources while preserving our natural heritage for generations.
Oil companies need deregulating in some areas to prevent lining corporate pockets. If some of the squeeze is not released from the “little man”, all that will remain are the monopolizing, mega, energy monsters. As a result, there will be no controlling of costs passed on to the consumer.
