WE THE PEOPLE
Constitution
Since the signing of the Constitution, this document has served to provide security and justice for this country. The sole purpose of the government is to secure our unalienable rights given us by our Creator, but when government grows beyond this scope, it is usurpation, leads to tyranny and injustice, and compromises liberty. The founding fathers' clearly indicated a desire for a nation unfettered by hindrances to both individual and commercial interests.
The highly structured “give and take” balancing of the Constitution as it correlates to the national government’s power, was established by our founding fathers to secure both a functioning nation and policy of the citizen’s rights. Only in granting and prohibiting powers, does the Constitution maintain the goal of our founding fathers…the forming of a government, which weighs and balances the good of society against those of the individual. Though the intent of the Framers was to keep Congress from seeking power grabs, many were fearful that lack of specific instructions would find their fears of unrestricted power mongers in office. Thus, the Bill of Rights, which came into effect on December 15, 1791, was formed.
No matter how much we argue about the details of its meaning today, in the opinion of many (including myself), the Constitution signed in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787 represents the greatest expression of statesmanship and unity ever written. In just four hand-written pages, the Constitution gives us the owners' manual to the greatest form of government the world has ever known. We must not allow it to be abolished!
